I like having a paycheck, even if it's so small that the teller at the bank gives me a look like, "Why are you even wasting my time with this?" when I try to cash it. I like having a job and getting to dress up a little and having something to do until school starts. I really like having a job where I can actually help when somebody's in trouble.

At this rate, everybody in town must have no problems whatsoever, because we don't have a single case. I'm so bored that I'm thinking about breaking out the vacuum. Okay, maybe not that bad, because I hate vacuuming. But close.

And I haven't told Buffy or anybody else who I'm working for. So don't tell her, okay? Yes, I know it's bad to do, but I'm not going to give this job up. No way. But I have to wait to leave for work until she's in the shower or our cold from patrolling or whatever, because if she saw me, I'd so be toast. Or not, because I can do whatever I want. It's a big benefit of being legal. But I still don't want to tell her yet.
